Das Abenteuer führt die Helden in den hohen Norden Aventuriens, nach Paavi. Hier hält ein mächtiger Zauberer die Bevölkerung in Atem und denkt sich immer neue Gemeinheiten aus, um die Städter in Panik zu versetzen. Gerade rechtzeitig stoßen nun die Helden hinzu und werden auch gleich Zeugen eines heimtückischen Überfalls räuberischer Riesengreifvögel, die mit Steinen die Stadt bombardieren. Des Rätsels Lösung wollen wir hier aber noch nicht verraten. Es sei soviel gesagt: Die Steinerne Schlange - was auch immer sich hinter diesem rätselhaften Namen verbergen mag - spielt eine Schlüsselrolle bei der Aufklärung des Mysteriums. »Kommando Olachtai« kann nach den Regeln des Basis- oder des Ausbauspiels gespielt werden.
